For Your Heart by A.L. Davroe - Promo and Guest Post

YA Paranormal Romance
Date Published: 10/31/2013

Experience THE BALLAD OF TAM LIN like you’ve never read it before…

It has been seven years since Jeanette Sauderheim followed her best friend into Carver Hall Park...and came out alone. Jeanette has never gotten over his mysterious disappearance nor has she gone back into the park. While that traumatic night still haunts her, Jeanette distracts herself by balancing her time between trying to pass Spanish, hanging out with her friends, and reading the latest manga.

But, when a promise to a friend drives her back into the park, she's forced to re-live the memories of that night. Lost and confused, Jeanette crosses paths with Tamrin, whose violent reaction to her provides yet another reason to avoid the park.

Tamrin, a knight of the Summer Court, has been sent to Earth to guard a garden of roses that hold special meaning to the queen of the Summer faeries. When his distraction at meeting Jeanette leads to her picking one of the Summer Queen’s roses, Tamrin vows to right his failure to do his duty.

However, the equivalent of one of the queen’s roses is a human heart and Tamrin’s reluctance to readily exact the sum from Jeanette sets in motion a spiral of love, betrayal, and magic that could mean damnation for them both.

*This is an Upper YA paranormal romance novel with NA and contemporary fantasy appeal.

Getting to Know The FOR YOUR HEART Characters (1):

Tamrin’s interview a few chapters into the book.

  1. What's your name?
Tamrin Chevalier
  1. How do you spend your days?
By morning, I patrol the area around carver Hall Park.  I check on the residents to make sure all is well, I check in with my faeries to be certain nothing is amiss, then I check Roxel’s rose garden to make sure they haven’t been disturbed.  If I’m lucky, I’ll find a pretty maid and bide my afternoon in her sweet company.  By night, I return to Summer Court in Otherworld.  I do as my queen bids me or visit other beansidhes to further my place in court.
  1. Have you always lived in Otherworld?
Of course, where else would an Aos Si live?
  1. What are some of your hobbies?
Archery, horsemanship, swordplay, and foreplay.
  1. What's the best meal you've ever had?
Jeanette’s pancakes.
  1. If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I’ve always wanted to visit Spring Court.  I’ve always wanted to see why Connor hates it so much.
  1. What's the best gift you've ever given?
Myself.  I’m pretty damn awesome.
  1. And what's the best gift you've ever received?
The numerous gifts that Roxel bestowed upon me as a knight of her court.
  1. What ability or skill do you most wish you had?
I wish I’d been born with a Talent, then I wouldn’t be so different from the other courtiers in Summer Court.

  1. What is/was your favorite subject in school?
English class.  I love to analyze the symbolic meaning in various written works.  I also have the gifts to read quickly and remember almost anything.  It’s an easy class.
  1. What's the biggest problem facing the world right now?
We’re here and you idiots don’t even know it.  The dark courts have already infiltrated your government, religious institutions, entertainment industry, and schools.  I wonder why that is…
  1. If you alone could solve it, how would you do it?
Why would I want to do that?
  1. What's your dream job?
I’m Queen Roxel’s favored knight and she gives me anything I want.  I already have my dream job?
  1. If you had to choose only one: cat or dog?
In court we keep cu, which are the closest thing we have to dogs in Otherworld.  But, I’m fond of White Cat, Jeanette’s pet.
  1. What's your favorite movie of all time?
Movies?  What are those?
  1. Aside from food, water, and shelter, what one thing could you not go a day without?
I always like to have a good dagger at my side.
  1. In everyday life, what is your number one pet peeve?
The courtiers en mass.  I can deal with them one on one, but never in a big group.
  1. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Find out about your acquaintance's short-term plans.
Probably exactly where I am right now, considering life hardly ever changes.
  1. Where do you see yourself in 20 years? And now find out about the long-term.
5 years, 20 years.  What difference does it make to immortals?  I’ll be a knight of Summer Court for forever.
  1. What do you want to know from the readers?
What can you do for me?  Because you’re certain to want what I’m offering in return.
